THE 2007 Australia Day Honours List has recognised 35 Air Force members for their achievements across a diverse range of fields.

Congratulations to the following award winners:

- Member (AM) in the military division of the Order of Australia

AIRCDRE Timothy Owen
, For exceptional service in the development of the Air Force’s surveillance and response capability.

WGCDR Gregory Young, For exceptional service in the field of aircraft systems engineering.

WOFF Raymond Woolnough
, For exceptional service to the Air Force in the performance of his duties as a Warrant Officer Disciplinary across several senior appointments.

- Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia in the military division

GPCAPT Mark Kelton, For meritorious service in the field of combat support to Air Force air operations.

GPCAPT Richard Sargeant, For meritorious service in the field of acquisition and logistics support.

- Commendation for Distinguished Service

AIRCDRE Richard Owen, For distinguished performance of duty as Chief of Staff Headquarters Joint Task Force 633 on Operation Catalyst during the period October 2005 to April 2006.

AIRCDRE Mark Skidmore, For distinguished performance of duties in war-like operations as the Director of the Coalition Combined Air Operations Centre in the Middle East Area of Operations during Operations Catalyst and Slipper.

SQNLDR Kevin Beaulne, For outstanding achievement as Staff Officer Maritime Patrol and Response.

, For outstanding achievement as the first Commander Australian Contingent for the
ADF’s contribution to the United Nations Mission in Sudan.

WOFF Stewart Garth, For outstanding achievement as Manager Technical Analysis Section of the Joint Electronic Warfare Operational Support Unit, RAAF Base Edinburgh.

- Meritorious Unit Citation

Australian Medical Detachment –Balad, For sustained outstanding service and professional competency in the provision of health care in support of the US Air Force Theatre Hospital, in Balad, Iraq, during Operation Catalyst.

The Citation was awarded to the first rotation from September 1, 2004 to May 3, 2005, and the third rotation from September 29 to December 31, 2005.

The second rotation, from May to September 2005, received the Citation in November last year.
