TEAM ADF, a relay team comprising ADF members stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, USA, recently competed in the 10th Annual USAF
Marathon.
ADF members have regularly supported this event with previous participants including GPCAPT Hayden Marshall (2002), WGCDR Clive Wells (2004) and, most recently, FLTLT Piotr Baizert, who completed the course in a time of 3:13:57 in 2005.
The marathon started at the USAF National Museum on the Wright-Patterson base with highlights of the route including passing the site where the Wright Brothers worked on the first powered aircraft, which later became the site for their aircraft manufacturing business, and running the last 200m of the course flanked on each side by a variety of aircraft from the USAF Museum.
Team ADF members were USAF Senior Liaison Officer WGCDR Steven Force, C-130J Exchange Officer SQNLDR Jason Dean, Army’s CAPT Stacey Harvey and the RAF Foreign Liaison Officer SQNLDR Graeme Tyre.
Team ADF completed the course in a time of 3:48:42, finishing 72nd out of 222 teams.
After completing the relay, members of the team were enthusiastic about completing the full marathon next year. |
