RESULTING from the success of the inaugural two-day national championship carnival, the Australian Defence Sports Triathlon Association plans to expand in 2007.
“Next year, the carnival is set to be over four days, combining the events from this year with a time trial set up for each discipline,” CAPT Del Madge said.
“This format will see not only individuals crowned as national champions but will provide participants with the opportunity to race for endurance and teams titles.”
Next year’s event is planned for November 26 to 30.
This year’s race was professional, with participants earning valuable points for the State Trophy.
The Olympic-distance event attracted a strong field of 36 of Defence’s top triathletes.
