Nominate the best of 2006

AIR Force Headquarters is now calling for nominations for the Air Force Proficiency and Leadership Awards for 2006.
Nominations are to be submitted to AFHQ through the relevant chain of command by February 16, 2007.
CAF will announce the winners on March 31 and they will be formally presented at the Air Force Awards night on May 16.

The awards are:
- The Hawker Siddeley Trophy for most proficient Air Force base over a calendar year.
- The Duke of Gloucester Cup for the most proficient flying squadron.
- The Air Force Maintenance Trophy for the most proficient Air Force maintenance unit.
- The Stonehaven Trophy for the most proficient training unit.
- The Markowski Cup for the most proficient unit not eligible to compete for other Air Force proficiency awards.
- The Air Force Association Trophy for the most proficient Reserve squadron.
- The Queen’s Gold Medal for the most outstanding officer trainee.
- The Australian Defence Industries Leadership Sword for the best overall student.
- The AVM B. A. Eaton Airman of the Year.
- The AVM Tony Dietz Memorial Quality and Achievement Medallions (military and civilian) for the best logistics support elements.
- The J. R. Bartram and R. A. Kee Sword of Honour for a graduate of the RAAF School of Technical Training.
- The W. T. Riggs Perpetual Trophy for the best official photograph of the year.
