Scholarship up for grabs

Volume 48, No. 20, November 2, 2006

APPLICATIONS are invited for the Lipshut Family Bursary, an educational bursary to members who might not otherwise have the opportunity to study.

Established in 2000 by Sonnie Lipshut, the bursary is offered to CPLs or below who are undertaking or have enrolled in a degree course with a view to obtaining a commission.

The bursary pays or refunds compulsory costs for three years full-time civil schooling or provides funding for the completion of a full-time degree at any institution, including the Australian Defence Force Academy. All costs are reimbursed in accordance with DI(AF) PERS 34-5 Civil Schooling Schemes.

The granting of this award on successful completion of degree studies does not guarantee commission. The intent of the bursary is to encourage members, if eligible, to consider commissioning as a long-term career aspiration.

Air Command applicants must forward their application through their respective chain of command to COS HQAC. All other members’ applications require respective one-star endorsement.

Applications should reach FLTLT Lexy Woodbury, COORD2, AFHQ (R1-6-C040), ACT 2600, by February 16, 2007.

CAF will announce the successful applicant at the Air Force Awards on March 30, 2007.

For more information, contact FLTLT Woodbury on (02) 6265 3669 or email alexandra.woodbury@defence.gov.au
