Reshaping our personnel
Volume 48, No. 20, November 2, 2006
A ‘Learning Futures’ (LF) team has been created to develop strategies that will significantly reshape the Air Force’s personnel capability regime.
The team is made up of GPCAPT Rob McIntyre and WGCDRs Russ Cox and John Leonard.
WGCDR Cox is targeting the corporate human resources management system to provide capability and personnel managers with the ready access and accurate, current data to fine-tune Air Force’s personnel capability.
WGCDR Leonard is responsible for the transition of Air Force to a learning-centred organisation (LCO).
LF has identified some Air Force workplaces where LCO principles are already established, and would like to hear of any others. They are calling for contributions from members whose current workplace, or one that you have served in recently:
respects, and makes use of, individuals’ accumulated experience;
encourages team or group learning;
advocates on-going individual learning;
has effective feedback loops with all stakeholders; and
values, collects and distributes ‘lessons learned’ information.
