Top Gun experience for MP

Volume 48, No. 17, Sepetember 21, 2006

A HAWK jet flight was “an absolute thrill” for Australian Labor Party Member for Werriwa, Chris Hayes, MP, during his week-long visit to RAAF Base Williamtown recently .

Mr Hayes was given the opportunity to sample working life on Australia’s premier fighter base as part of the 2006 ADF Parliamentary Program (ADFPP).

“This [program] has provided me with a unique opportunity to meet with the men and women of the Air Force and see their dedication and professionalism first hand,” Mr Hayes said.

“Access to all these aspects of working routine at RAAF Base Williamtown has highlighted to me that we really have well trained, highly motivated and professional personnel in our Air Force.”

“I respect and value their contribution to our nation and having a better understanding of their work and life gives me an appreciation of not only the Air Force but the ADF as well.”
