Friends with Money
Jennifer Aniston, Frances McDormand, Joan Cusack, Catherine Keener, Simon McBurney, Jason Isaacs.
Volume 11, No. 52, September 21, 2006

1 Star

JENNIFER Aniston always gives a solid performance. Usually her roles are light weight – maybe it takes less skill to make the cut.

Friends with Money isn’t a light weight chick flick. It might have been less drawn out if it was. It’s not quality heavy weight either.

It’s the story of four friends and their partners. Three are married – happily or otherwise – and Olivia (Aniston) is looking for a significant other and trying to get her mojo back. This is a fine plot for a film but something about Friends with Money makes it very dry, not sophisticated. It slides along without high points or impact to the story from start to finish. If you must see it, wait till DVD.
