Volume 48, No. 16, Sepetember 7, 2006

HARD AT IT: FLTLT Gardiner back in training following his ADF Marathon win.
WINNING TEAM: Air Force took out the ACT inter-Service squash titles. The title has been won by each Service over the last three years.

AIR Force combined great skill and sportsmanship to achieve victory in the ACT inter-Service squash titles.

The ACT inter-Service squash competition was conducted at the ADFA Indoor Sports Complex on August 16.

A total of 24 personnel participated in the event, comprising Navy, Army, Air Force, ADFA Cadets and one Republic of Singapore Air Force Officer, 2LT Gabriel Yam.

Players of all standards competed and the round robin format used meant that every match counted toward the final result.

All matches were played with true sportsmanship and all players can be proud of the effort they put in for their service.

Navy was unable to defend its title, Air Force winning with 50 points, Army second with 32 points and Navy third with 22 points.

The winning Air Force Team was WGCDR Les Hughes, FSGT Brett Parker, WGCDR Chris Cook, 2LT Gabriel Yam, SQNLDR Des Chin, LAC Candice Bennett, LAC Rebecca Townsend and OCDT Beau Rheinberger.

Some players went through their matches undefeated: WGCDR Chris Cook, 2LT Gabriel Yam, SQNLDR Des Chin, OCDT Brian Yarrington and LTCOL Phil Langworthy.
