DEFENCE
uniformed and civilian personnel will have access to another
150 electronic courses on the CAMPUS system, following a recent
partnership between Defence and e-learning course provider,
SkillSoft.
CAMPUS is an online e-learning system available to all Defence
staff on the DRN, which provides computer-based access to courses
and learning material. CAMPUS is accessed by the DRN intranet:
http://defweb.cbr.defence.gov.au/det/campus
The courses will replace the existing Thompson NetG courses.
Those predominately Microsoft Office courses will be deactivated
from that date.
The new courses include:
Microsoft Office courses such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Outlook, Access, Project, Front Page and Visio. These are offered
for Microsoft Office versions 97, 2000, 2002 and 2003,
Microsoft Windows XP,
Internet Explorer 5.5 and 6.0,
Adobe Acrobat and Reader, and
Macromedia Dreamweaver MX and Flash MX.
Learners currently enrolled in Thompson NetG courses will still
be able to access those courses until October 30. After that,
learners will be directed to enrol in a new SkillSoft course.
Learners who have partially completed any of the NetG courses
should complete it by October 30 if they wish to receive credit
for the completion in PMKeyS. Alternatively, contact the DRN
Support desk on 133 272 to have the enrolment removed.
No PMKeyS and other Defence-related courses and mandatory courses
will be affected by the introduction of the new SkillSoft courses.
