OPERATIONAL and tactical levels of warfare will be the focus of
Exercise Pitch Black 06 (PB06) the Air Forces largest
exercise, due to begin on July 28.
Australians will work alongside Air Force representatives from
France, Singapore, Thailand, the UK and the US during the three-week
exercise.
Based out of RAAF Bases Tindal and Darwin, PB06 will also see
the activation of bare base RAAF Curtin in Western Australia.
In addition to the personnel in the thick of the action, more
than 100 members will work behind the scenes in support of the
exercise.
An offensive counter-air and defensive counter-air exercise, PB06
will provide a valuable learning experience for Air Force members
in a genuine multi-national environment.
