Alpine skiing
- HE Air Force alpine skiing and snowboarding championships will be held at Mt Buller, Victoria, from July 30 to August 6 in the lead-up to the inter-Service alpine sports competition.

ASTA is back
- The Australian Services Triathlon Assocation (ASTA) is back with an Executive Committee meeting on August 28-30. The meeting will look at activities for the 2006/2007 season and will address any issues raised by members.

Sailing
- The ADF Sailing Association (ADFSA) is calling for interested Service and Defence civilian members to enter the 34th Australian Tasar championships.
The competition will be held at the Royal Perth Yacht Club, from December 29, 2006 to January 5, 2007. Helm/crew combinations are preferred. Air Force nominations must be made through SGT Ross MacDonald at ross.macdonald1@defence.gov.au or telephone (02)45871762.
Nominations are required by September 29.

Basketball
- The ACT/Wagga inter-Service basketball competition will be conducted in Canberra from September 9-10. A men’s and women’ squad will be selected to represent ACT/Wagga at the nationals in Townsville in December.

Soccer
- Trials for the Air Force national soccer teams will be held at RAAF Base Williamtown from October 22 to 27. Trials will be held for both men and women, with the ADF football national competition to be held at Parramatta Melita Stadium, Sydney, from October 28 to November 4.
Expressions of interest, including playing experience and preferred position, should be sent to CPL Geoff Gillard at geoff.gillard@defence.gov.au.
City to Surf
- There is still time to enter the biggest fun-run in the world, the Sydney City to Surf. As a sanctioned event, Defence runners are eligible for reimbursement of the entry fee.
