MEMBERS of the logistics employment group are being encouraged to join the Logistics Association of Australia (LAA).
The Director of the Logistics Support Agency (LSA), GPCAPT Hayden Marshall, said the alignment of the logistics employment group to a professional association is an important milestone in the continuing professionalisation and development of the Air Force logistics community.
“Through their membership in the LAA, logistics personnel will be exposed to industry trends, which we expect to positively influence AF logistics best-practice.”
“To date, more than 120 members of the logistics community have joined the LAA. While this is encouraging, the LSA is aiming to have in excess of 450 members and have targeted personnel from the rank of CPL to WGCDR from SPLR and CLKSPLY musterings and the LOG category.”
Members who join receive a range of benefits, including the opportunity to attend conferences, participate in national awards and gain access to an industry knowledge base.
Joining the LAA is simple. Those wishing to join should complete membership forms at the LAA website, http://www.laa.asn.au. Forms can be submitted online, and no payment is required.
The LSA has negotiated a process in which the membership costs are billed directly to the LSA-AF. More information can be found at the LAS website at http://intranet.defence.gov.au/raafweb/sites/lsa-af/.
