AIR FORCE News congratulates 17 members honoured in the Queen’s Birthday List.
CAF AIRMSHL Geoff Shepherd AM and AVM Roxley McLennan AM became Officers of the Order of Australia.

AIRMSHL Shepherd was recognised for distinguished service to the ADF in senior command and staff appointments while AVM McLennan received his AO for distinguished service in the field of international relations and management.

Membership of the Order of Australia: GPCAPT Calvert Mitchell for service to Air Force personnel and as Deputy Commandant, ADFA.

AIRCDRE Kevin Paule as the DG Joint Operations and Plans in Strategic Ops Division.

Medals of the Order of Australia: SQNLDR Grant Hermann as a Senior Maintenance Manager in 92WG and PC9/A Engineering Manager.

FLTLT Greg Williams for duty in the field of the recovery of Australian military personnel killed in previous conflicts.

Conspicuous Service Crosses: GPCAPT Michael Bennett for achievement as Deputy Director Combat Capability Management, AFHQ.

WGCDR Peter McKay as Deputy Director Personnel Information Management Systems.

WGCDR Simon Sauer for achievement as CO 3 Airfield Defence SQN and in support of Air Force operational capability.

FLTLT Jamie Sterling for duty as the Standards, Training and Projects Officer for the induction of the AP-3C Orion into service with 92WG.

Conspicuous Service Medals: FSGT Peter Ferguson for duty as the Training Resource and Information Officer within the Directorate of Operational Capability at HQ Air Command.

SQNLDR Shawn Matthews for duty as Flight Commander at both 2OCU and 77SQN.

FSGT Richard Neal for duty as a warrant officer – Detention Management Team Defence Force Corrective Establishment.

WGCDR Gregory Norman for service as Commander of Banda Aceh Medical Detachment in support of Operation Sumatra Assist.

SQNLDR Philip Owen for Duty Officer in Charge Air Traffic Control Element, Banda Aceh.

WOFF Adrian Wagner for duty as Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Loadmaster Standards, Training and Development at 36SQN.
