AIR Force is on target for a successful 2006 skiing season.
Cross-country skiers are invited to compete in the Air Force and then inter-Service cross-country and biathlon skiing competitions, to be held at Mt Hotham, Victoria, from July 30 - August 11.
OIC Air Force cross-country skiing, FLTLT Satya Tanner, said no experience was required.
“We train the competitors and put the beginners through an accelerated training program that enables them to compete at a competitive level by the end of the week,” she said.
“The ADF competition is receiving a shake-up this year and we’ve got an exciting program scheduled that allows for greater development of novice skiers. It can be tailored to their individual needs without impacting the scoring system.
“It’s going to be a pretty exciting year and if the early snow falls this year are anything to go by, we’re looking at a first-class course, too.”
