Health conference
Papers are invited for the 2006 Defence Health and Australian Military Medicine Association (AMMA) Conference, to be held at the Brisbane Convention Centre from October 19-22.
The theme is Military Health – The Challenges. Abstracts are to be forwarded before June 30 to the Director of Defence Force Nursing, CP2-7-003, Department of Defence, Campbell Park, ACT 2600.

New squadron
87 Squadron will re-form as an air intelligence squadron on July 1. Headquarters 87SQN will be located at RAAF Base Edinburgh with seven Tactical Intelligence Flights (TIFs) located at most major RAAF bases.
Details on the new squadron will be published in a future edition of AIR FORCE News.

Central Band
June 3: The Air Power Brass Quintet will dedicate a plaque to 9SQN at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra at 1.40pm.
June 3: Force 10 will provide music for the Australian Defence Force Cadets tri-Service Ball in Bendigo at 8pm.
June 4: The Air Power Brass Band will perform at Telstra Theatre at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra at 10.30am.
June 6: The Symphonic Band will present an hour of music at BMW Edge stage at Federation Square in Melbourne at 12pm.
June 10: The Central Band and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will unite for “Classical Spectacular”, a classical music arena event at the Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Park, at 2pm and 7.30pm.
June 13: The Jazz ensemble will provide music for the Senior Design Engineer Symposium Dinner at the RAAF Base Williams (Laverton) Officers’ Mess at 6.30pm.
Air Command Band
June 3-4: The Band will represent the Air Force at this year’s Classical Spectacular at the Sydney Entertainment Centre from 7.30pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.
June 9: Chamber musicians will perform at St Peters Church, Blues Point Rd, North Sydney, at 1.15pm.
June 10: The Jazz Big Band will participate in this year’s Darling Harbour Jazz Festival at Tumbulong Park from 4 - 5pm.
June 13: A small group of musicians will support the Queen’s Birthday Reception at Government House in Sydney at 6pm. Attendance is by invitation only.
