Call to have your say on issues with pay

Volume 48, No. 6, April 20, 2006

CHIEF of Defence Force, ACM Angus Houston, has opened consultation on the next Workplace Remuneration Arrangement (WRA).

In a command message, CDF encourages members to have a say on pay issues.

“I want to engage our members early on the replacement arrangement and I invite ADF members to have their say and provide their views,” he said.

“The WRA deals with ADF pay and related allowances. Other conditions of service, such as deployment allowances, domestic allowances, leave and housing, sit outside the WRA.”

The WRA will deliver across-the-board ADF pay increases, in return for general improvements in productivity and efficiency.

At this stage, the WRA project team is seeking wide-ranging input from members on such issues as:

  • The amount and timing of pay rises and the length of the WRA,
  • Salary-related allowances, and
  • Reserve pay and conditions.
Members can let the project team know what they think either through their chain of command or by phone, fax or email. Members can also call 1800 DEFENCE, or fax the project team on 02 6266 3045.
  • For more visit the WRA website at http://www.defence.gov.au/dpe/pac or http://intranet.defence.gov.au/pac and click on the “Workplace Remuneration Arrangement” link
