Pay packets get fatter

By Will Van Weerdenburg and Steve Long
Volume 48, No. 4, March 23, 2006

ADF members will see more money in their pay packets after salary and salary-related allowances increased by 1.5% on March 9.

The increase applies to all members up to the rank of Air Vice-Marshal. This is the last instalment of the current Workplace Remuneration Arrangement (WRA) and Star Ranks Remuneration Arrangement (SRRA).

According to Head Defence Personnel Executive, MAJGEN Mark Evans, “The current arrangements have delivered a 10 per cent increase in ADF salaries and related allowances since May 2004 – an average of 4 per cent per year,” MAJGEN Evans said.

“The current WRA and SRRA are due to end on November 3 this year. Work has already begun on the development of the next WRA and SRRA to ensure that new arrangements will be ready to go.”
