More
help at hand for ADF partners
Volume 48, No. 4, March 23, 2006
A
PERSONALISED resumé preparation initiative is the latest
tool available to partners of ADF members looking for employment,
thanks to the Services Workforce Access Program for Partners
(SWAPP).
SWAPP offers a range of services to assist ADF partners to become
job-ready and access the workforce when posted to a new location.
ADF partners may be eligible for reimbursement of up to $500
for the preparation of a personalised resumé by a service
provider of their own choice.
Those who would rather prepare their own resumé can borrow
a CD copy of a resumé builder from their local Defence
Community Organisation (DCO) office and download it to a personal
computer.
The resumé builder has a self-instruction program that
helps to create resumés and introductory letters, as
well as address selection criteria.
If you dont have a computer at home, you can access the
resumé builder on the community computers available in
each DCO office.
ADF partners accompanying an ADF member posted overseas can
borrow a copy of the resumé builder CD by contacting
DCO HQ.
Assistance provided to ADF partners under SWAPP is fringe benefits
tax (FBT) reportable on the ADF members pay summary, which
could have a direct impact on families who are receiving government
assistance or paying child support.
A specific advantage of the resumé builder CD option
is that it is exempt from FBT.
