Security course goes online

DEFENCE personnel have a new way to refresh their security awareness and fulfil their annual security briefing requirements.

The Defence Security Authority (DSA) introduced a new online security training course, Intro-duction to Security, last month.

The course is available on the Defence Campus website, at http://lms.dcb.defence.gov.au/logon.asp.

Ken Wilson from the DSA’s Training & Awareness section said the course is primarily aimed at new starters in the organisation, but could also be used by existing members as a security refresher course.

Mr Wilson said the course should take the average member approximately an hour to complete. This includes the completion of a short assessment at the end.

Once completed, the results will be automatically recorded and remain current for the following 12 months.

To access the course, log on to the CAMPUS website and then type ‘Security’ into the search field at the top of
the screen. The course title will be displayed and members can double click on the title to enrol for the course.

DSA are interested in any feedback via e-mail at dsa.securityawareness@defence.gov.au.
