THE
new Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC) facility near
Bungendore is to be extensively modified.
CDF Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston recently reviewed the higher
command structure of the ADF to make it more streamlined and effective
in the light of lessons learnt from recent overseas deployments
by the ADF, as well as swiftly evolving command, control and communications
systems and methods.
As a result, only 750 staff will be required for the new joint
headquarters, instead of the 1185 envisaged when the original
specifications were prepared.
As a result of the review, the three tenderers will be invited
to revise their bids to reflect the new structures.
The headquarters is still planned to be fully operational by 2008.
