Call Me Jack, written by Lesley Hazlitt in her 80s,
is a biography of Jack Hazlitt, a self-made, hard-working
Australian legend.
He was born in Melbourne in 1897 under difficult circumstances.
His father left his mother when he was young.
The book traces Jack Hazlitts busy and full life
through his mischievous childhood, joining the Australian
Army in 1915, serving at Gallipoli, becoming a rainmaker,
working with Qantas in its infancy, marrying twice and
living to the ripe old age of 95.
The book is a pleasant and easy read of the history
of a man who made the most of every situation that life
placed him in.
