THE
ADF has won a prestigious achievement award for its innovative
use of information technology with the CAMPUS on-line learning
system.
The Computerworld Information Technology Awards Foundation, based
in Massachusetts in the United States, has made the award in the
category of education and academia.
Secretary of Defence Ric Smith accepted the award and said, with
the development of CAMPUS the ADF had implemented Australias
largest whole-of-organisation flexible learning strategy, and
had set a global benchmark.
This is an outstanding achievement and is one that places
the on-line CAMPUS facility unambiguously as worlds best
practice, Mr Smith said. The award reflects positively
on Defence and is a great credit to all those involved in the
development of the CAMPUS system.
CAMPUS provides training in areas ranging from administrative
business skills through to frontline operational and peacekeeping
operations.
