CDF
congratulates operations personnel
By Andrew Stackpool
Chief
of Defence Force Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston has congratulated
all ADF personnel involved in Operation Bali Assist II.
In a message to Vice Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant General
Ken Gillespie, he wrote:
As the ADF commitment to Bali Assist II comes to a close,
I wish to commend the efforts of the men and women under your
command for their rapid and professional response to the terrorist
attacks in Bali, Indonesia, on Saturday October 1, 2005.
The efforts of the diverse group of ADF personnel that deployed
or coordinated and supported the ADF response to this tragic incident
were instrumental in ensuring that Australian and foreign casualties
received timely medical care.
The excellent performance by all the ADF members involved in Bali
Assist II have further enhanced the ADFs reputation domestically
and within the region. Those involved should be proud of their
achievements.
I recently met with the Prime Minister, who mentioned to
me how very pleased and appreciative he was of the ADFs
efforts to assist the Bali bombing victims.
I welcome home all those deployed on this brief but demanding
operation. BZ.
