COMBAT
Support Group (CSG) has a new commander.
Air Commodore Mark Gower relieved Air Commodore Andrew Kilgour
at a ceremony at RAAF Base Amberley on August 31.
Air Commodore Gower was Director, Logistics Support Agency in
Canberra before taking over Air Forces largest command.
Formed in 1998, CSG supplies the Air Force with deployable personnel
and equipment for airfield operations. It comprises five wings
and 31 squadrons, and is headquartered at Amberley.
Chief of Air Force Air Marshal Geoff Shepherd congratulated both
commanders.
I would like to extend my congratulations to Air Commodore
Gower in his appointment as Commander Combat Support Group,
he said.
I am confident that he will continue to provide outstanding
leadership to Combat Support Group.
I also thank Air Commodore Kilgour for his leadership during
an exceptionally busy time for the group, which provided a significant
contribution to operations, including Operation Sumatra Assist.
Air Commodore Kilgour thanked CSG for its achievements during
his time as commander.
I have been privileged to command an outstanding and very
professional organisation in CSG over the last 21 months,
he said.
Air Commodore Kilgour has now taken up an appointment in Canberra
as a Director-General in Infrastructure Division in CSIG.
