Rating:
4/5
Car
chases, moonshine, southern drawls and ass shaking
Dukes of Hazzard has it all wrapped up neatly in one
big orange bundle called General Lee.
Throw in some wild bar fights, a 1969 Dodge Charger that can
outrun any car in the county, squealing tyres, highway chases,
and Jessica Simpson in a red bikini as Daisy Duke, and you
have a recipe for light-hearted entertainment with something
to please everyone.
When we catch up with brothers Bo (Scott) and Luke (Knoxville)
Duke, something is adrift in Hazzard County. Corrupt commissioner
Boss Hogg (Reynolds) tries his very best underhanded schemes
to strip-mine the County for coal.
Dim-witted at best, the boys finally figure out what is going
on in their beloved County and find themselves trying to save
their Uncle Jesses (Nelson) farm.
Now dont be thinking this is a serious movie with quality
acting after all, the lead characters are best known
for their work as Stifler (American Pie) and in Jackass. And
the movie doesnt greatly resemble the original Dukes
of Hazzard, which ran as a TV series from 1979-85, but its
fun.
If youre looking for a brilliant movie then move on,
but if you want to fill in a couple of hours with some light
entertainment, wild car bush bashing and plenty
of inbreds, then why not visit Hazzard County, a place where
the moonshine flows, the girls wear short shorts and General
Lee flies high again.
