Breakfast:
BJs
(Beaujangles) in the mall is well-priced, but
the staff wait like they want to be somewhere
else.
Euro Cafe has a tasty menu, but is a bit student-revolutionary.
Harbour Lights in Morrison Street is set up
like a lighthouse and is a quaint setting for
tucking into a huge menu.

Pubs:
Knopwoods
Retreat, cosy atmosphere, great mulled wine
and hot mead. Customs House ideally located
in Murray Street. Bridie OReillys
boasts 20 beers on tap. Conveniently, the delicious
Cascade Draught is on tap everywhere in Hobart.
Stuff
to do:
Cascade Brewery, (oldest
in operation in Australia). Port Arthur, take
in the surrounds of a convict colony. Its
a picturesque spot with a hint of sadness. Pay
extra to sail to the burial ground of convicts
and soldiers the Isle of the Dead
and factor in an overnight stay; theres
a ghost tour for the brave.

Dinner:
Salamanca
is the place to be seen with a great selection
of restaurants, pubs and boutiques. For steak,
you cant go past Ball & Chain, beware
though, you cant book and an hours
wait for a table is apparently acceptable.
Strudels Austrian restaurant delivers delicious
European cuisine thats just like eating
at home. Excellent service, a sleekly designed
restaurant and huge menu selection make it a
must visit more than once.
