ONE
role of No. 1 Combat Communications Squadron is to support deployed
elements, and perhaps nobody appreciates the squadrons high
operational tempo better than Flight Sergeant Mick Lennon.
Flight Sergeant Lennon, a Communications and Electronics Technician
who has been in the Air Force for 16 years, is one of four resource
managers at No. 1 Combat Communications Squadron whose job it
is to select squadron personnel for deployments and exercises.
Given the high operational tempo, it is vital that No. 1
Combat Communications Squadron maintain its capability for deploying
personnel in support of Air Force, ADF and coalition operations,
he says.
In selecting personnel he bases his decisions on many things,
including their knowledge of squadron dynamics, experience and
qualifications. Hes worked hard to develop a strong esprit
de corps at the unit.
We have a lot to be proud of because we are among the first
Air Force personnel to deploy to set up communications,
he says.
The squadron participates as a unit in many training, sporting
and social activities that enhance, not only teamwork, but also
military skills.
