TOLL
Transport has been awarded a three-year Defence removal service
contract, valued at $300 million.
Toll Transport began providing ADF and Defence civilian personnel
with domestic and international removal and storage, vehicle relocation
and valet unpacking services from July 1.
The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Defence, Teresa
Gambaro, said it was the largest contract for removal services
in Australia.
This contract will provide an enhanced removal service for
Defence personnel by reducing the amount of work required by the
member, Ms Gambaro said.
It will involve the increased utilisation of a computer
based transition management system, which will allow busy Defence
personnel to complete removal requirements in a quicker timeframe.
The removal contract was signed on June 14, replacing a Memorandum
of Understanding between Toll Transport and the Government.
