QThe
AGM 114 Hellfire anti-armour air-to-ground missile
has been produced in a range of variations,
notably the A, B (Navy), C, F and II variants.
Depending on the type, it uses a laser-seeking
or radar frequency seeker homing system.
It
also has dual warheads.
It
is propelled by a single stage, single thrust
solid propellant motor and maximum effective
range is believed to be about 8km at a maximum
speed of about 1500km/h..

The
ADFs new Tiger armed reconnaissance helicopter has bared
its teeth for the first time.
The chopper conducted the first test firings of an inert Hellfire
missile at Woomera on May 28 and 31 as part of the first phase
of certification of the missile for service use on the Tiger.
DMO and Australian Aerospace have worked together to integrate
the American missile with a European platform.
The second phase will include the helicopters first firing
of live missiles and is anticipated to be completed by August.
The Tigers armament comprises a 30mm cannon, rockets and
the Hellfire.
