A
2 per cent pay rise for personnel up to the rank of air vice-marshal
came into effect on June 2.
The increase is the third instalment under the ADF Workplace Remuneration
Arrangement (WRA) and the Star Ranks Remuneration Arrangement
(SRRA).
The pay rise applies to all regular and reserve base salary rates,
as well as to all salary-related allowances, such as service,
submarine, field and flying.
The arrangements provide a 10 per cent increase paid in four instalments
from March 2004 through to November 2006.
The fourth and final instalment of 1.5 per cent is due on March
9, 2006.
These across-the-board pay rises recognise and reward the commitment
of ADF members to continued improvements in organisational efficiency
and productivity, according to Director Military Salary and Allowances-Policy
COL Terry McCullagh.
He said the Defence Travel Reform Program and PMKeyS Self Service
were major bargaining chips in the negotiation of the current
WRA and SRRA.
Work is beginning on the development of the next WRA and SRRA
as the current arrangements expire in November 2006.
Defence will seek to obtain pay outcomes in a way that are
seen as fair and equitable, balancing the recognition of general
community standards and the special nature of ADF service,
COL McCullagh said.
