Posting turbulence to be minimised

POSTINGS to satisfy establishment changes are to be issued in the main end-of-year posting plot that is promulgated in August/September.

This directive – from the Director General Personnel - Air Force, Air Commodore Ken Birrer – is aimed at further minimising posting turbulence. The directive applies to postings required to satisfy establishment changes that would result in a change of location for one or more individuals.

“While some changes are well planned, with sufficient lead time, there is an increasing trend for commanders and supervisors to expect that postings will occur quickly and with little notice to satisfy establishment changes,” AIRCDRE Birrer said.

The policy does not preclude these postings being issued earlier, where an early move helps an ADF member.
But exceptions at short notice will generally be restricted to those affecting urgent operational requirements, OH&S needs and the like.

All exceptions will be considered on their individual merits.
