Leave will lapse if not used by July

A REMINDER that leave will lapse if personnel’s July 1, 2002 leave balance is not exhausted by July 1 this year.

Leave lapsing occurs automatically in PMKeyS on July 1 every year. Air Force members should determine their leave lapsing situation from their administrative staff. Where circumstances prevent taking leave before July 1 this year, application could be made to exempt personnel from leave lapsing.

Applications for leave lapsing exemption needed to be submitted on form PE057 and received by DGPERS-AF after processing via the chain of command by April 22. It was expected that approval for leave lapsing exemptions would occur only in exceptional circumstances.
