PMKeys
web site is a hit
 |
THE
Air Force PMKeyS web site is proving to be very popular, with
more than 11,000 hits by personnel and service providers recorded
to date.
CAF launched the web site http://intranet.defence.gov.au/raafweb/sites/ddpims
at the end of last year, along with the RAAF PMKeyS Policy
and Procedures Manual.
PMKeys training
The Air Force also continues to be the lead Service in the ADF
to provide PMKeyS training. All training is being facilitated
by DMA-AF in conjunction with the Defence Business Training Centre.
The latest round of PMKeyS training started in February. To date,
more than 200 personnel have received PD&T transactor training
and PA&L manager, supervisor and transactor training. This
builds on the 450 personnel who received PMKeyS training in 2004.
Although the current round of PD&T training has been completed,
it is not too late to enrol in PA&L supervisor and transactor
training at RAAF Bases Wagga, Townsville and Darwin. PA&L
manager training is also scheduled to be conducted at RAAF Base
Richmond.
This training has been primarily developed for administration
officers. It aims to provide the necessary skills to satisfy PMKeyS
unit reporting requirements. All training is scheduled to take
place before the end of June. The DMA-AF POC for all enquires
and nominations is WOFF Irene Leurs, email irene.leurs@defence.gov.au
or phone (02) 6266 5382.
PMKeys upgrade planned
Defence is developing plans to upgrade PMKeyS from PeopleSoft
version 7 to PeopleSoft version 8.
This activity is expected to include an upgrade of the civilian
functionality and military human resources functionality and incorporation
of military payroll functionality (currently provided by the ADFPAY
and CENRESPAY II applications) into a single system for the ADF.
Several potential enhancements have been identified to be further
explored in a design/scoping study starting this month.
Although much work remains to be done, current planning suggests
that the upgraded military components of PMKeyS Version 8, including
military payroll, would be introduced during 2008.
In
order to ensure its ongoing use across the Air Force, all suggestions
for improvement can be sent to FLTLT Neil Foate email neil.foate@defence.gov.au
or phone (02) 6266 5123.
