Nominate for Australia Day Honours List

NOMINATIONS are open for ADF personnel to be recognised by awards within the Order of Australia (Military Division) and Conspicuous Service Decorations in the Australia Day 2006 Honours List.

There are no rank limitations, but there are new guidelines concerning the writing of the citation and synopses of nominations. In particular, the format of what is included in the first paragraph of the citation is important.

This should accurately reflect what has been written in the narrative and should avoid phrases such as performance of duty. Examples of old and new synopses are at www.defence.gov.au/dpe/dpe-site/honours-awards/.

Nominations should be cleared through two-star (or equivalent) officers within the Defence groups, Service headquarters and command, or at ambassador/high commissioner level for members serving in overseas representational positions.

Nominations must reach the Directorate of Honours and Awards no later than May 31 this year in both hard and soft copy.
