Childcare centres tender out

*

Defence has tendered for solutions to be provided for Defence childcare centres and outside school hours care facilities.

The successful tenderer should be known soon. The current contract ends on June 30.

Aspects the tender looks at include additional childcare placements and procedures to minimise disruption.

DEFENCE has tendered for innovative solutions to be provided for Defence childcare centres and outside school hours care facilities from July.

The current contract is due to end on June 30.

The tender is looking at:

  • additional childcare placements;
  • childcare services that provide Defence families with continuing access to high quality childcare on a user pays basis at competitive market rates; and
  • management and operation of Defence-owned or leased childcare centres and outside school hours care facilities.

    Tenderers have been asked to develop procedures to minimise disruption to Defence families during any changeover period.

    Reducing the effect of mobility is an important focus of the program. The successful tenderer is also required to meet, at a minimum, all existing regulatory, licensing and accreditation requirements including staff/child ratios and staff qualifications.

    Defence Families of Australia, Defence public service staff, Defence Community Organisation staff, Defence Property Services and the Services personnel area have all contributed to the tender requirements and evaluation criteria.

    The successful tenderer should be known soon.
