Air Force officers scoop prize pool

FIVE Air Force officers almost took the entire prize pool in the Army-dominated Australian Technical Staff Officer’s Course (ATSOC).

The ATSOC course predominantly prepares Army officers for employment in capability systems or DMO. To date, 10 Air Force officers have graduated from ATSOC.

The Air Force ATSOC contingent comprised Squadron Leader Steve Adamson, Squadron Leader Kate Carlisle, Squadron Leader Mick Durant, Squadron Leader Gary Johnston and Flight Lieutenant Natalie Colbert.

In particular, SQNLDR Adamson was named Student of Merit (awarded to the student with the overall highest results across all academic and military activities) and also won five of the seven academic prizes for the top student in individual subjects.

SQNLDR Kate Carlisle jointly won the academic prize for the Team Project subject, as the leader of a three-person team examining the potential for a C-130 portable self-propelled howitzer to meet the Army’s Project Land 17 requirements.
