THE
future of logistics governance is already being worked on. Activities
apart from establishing the Logistics Support Agency - Air Force
(LSA-AF) include:
a supply customer account recovery project (SCARP);
publishing
and implementing an Air Force Supply Governance Manual;
The
SCARP is realigning the structure and hierarchy of SDSS supply
customer account to accurately reflect the Air Force command
structure and correcting data within the accounts.
The SCARP at RAAF Bases Edinburgh, Richmond and Williamtown
has reduced the number of supply customer accounts Air Force-wide
from about 7500 to 5624.
Remaining Air Force units will be completed in the first half
of this year. A software program will soon be rolled out to
Air Force units to automate stocktake reporting. Stocktake Manager
will provide near real-time management information.
The recent release of the Logistic Support Concept sets out
much of how logistics governance will operate in the future.
It outlines the support concepts and practices – including roles
and responsibilities – for logistics delivery from 2004-2007.
LSA-AF staff are also developing a Logistic Management Manual
and Defence Instructions.
Authorised stores accounting organisations will also be established
within Air Force Group.
