The ASM with East Timor clasp has been awarded for service after August 2003.

THE ASM with East Timor clasp has been awarded to personnel deployed to East Timor since August 2003. Governor General Major General Michael Jeffery recently approved the award to ADF personnel who deployed on Op Citadel from August 18, 2003, and on Op Spire from May 20, 2004. Conditions for the award are:

  • ADF members posted to or formally attached to the Australian element of the prescribed operation for a period of 30 days, continuous or aggregate;
  • ADF members who render service of 30 days, continuous or aggregate, as part of a foreign defence force element of the prescribed operation while on secondment or exchange with the foreign defence force and while the member was on approved Australian third country deployment; or
  • ADF members who render service and complete 30 operational sorties within the duration of the prescribed operation, where those sorties are conducted over a period of not less than an aggregate of 30 days at a rate of one sortie per day.
