Bloody battle with firies

AIR Force members in Victoria are being urged to make a blood donation and battle firefighters in the process.

Placed second in the number of blood donations last year, Defence members led for most of the summer, but the firefighters hosed down all comers in the last few days to win.

Personnel from RAAF Base Williams, HMAS Cerberus and Simpson Barracks gathered to attend the Red Cross launch last month of the Summer Blood Challenge with a vow to outdo the firefighter in this year’s challenge.

The Red Cross is hoping for 5000 donations before February 28. Call your local Australian Red Cross Blood Bank and register to participate.
