A master at fencing

Squadron Leader Michael Spencer was among the best fencers at the recent Pan Pacific Masters Games.

SQNLDR Spencer finished second in the team foil and the team epee, third in the individual epee and sixth in the individual foil.

It was his first attempt at the Games after 15 months in the sport.

“The medal award was a pleasant surprise,” he said. Some of Australia’s top-national representative and former Olympian fencers were among the 56 fencing competitors.
