Polish
up on revised shoe policy
A
NEW set of policies for the issuing and wearing of patent leather
and plain leather shoes has been produced.
From January 1, 2005, all new PAF entrants will receive a pair
of patent leather shoes as well as a pair of plain leather shoes
as part of their initial free issue.
From next year, patent leather shoes or highly-polished, plain
leather shoes may be worn on parades or at ceremonial events.
From January 1, 2007, the patent leather shoe will become the
standard item worn with the SD uniform and the required footwear
for parades and ceremonial events.
The plain leather shoe will remain in the inventory for wear with
the CWD uniform and for wear as an optional, working dress item
with other approved orders of dress, including the SD uniform.
Until PAF and Reserve requirements have been fully met, the patent
leather shoe will not be available for issue to or purchase by
AAFC staff and cadets.
The OIC Air Force Clothing Entitlement Section will issue separate
instructions about the issue of patent leather shoes to Reserve
personnel and to those PAF members with SD shoe entitlements still
shown on their clothing cards.
All personnel are reminded that only the authorised pattern of
patent leather shoe may be worn with the Air Force uniform.
