NO COMPETITORS set course records at the TFSPO charity triathlon, although they raised a record amount for the Hunter Autistic School.

Forty-five entrants took part in the 200m swim, 9km ride and 3.5km run at RAAF Base Williamtown on November 2.

Sergeant John Caples, of No. 76 Squadron, won in a time of 33:20. Alex West was the first woman across the line in 43:28. Sergeant Paul Verrall, Sergeant Jason Woodcoe and Scott Dunning were the members of the winning team, Big Hair, which clocked 34:35.

Through the event, TFSPO raised $8000 in support of the Hunter Autistic School’s programs, $3000 more than ever before.

One of the organisers, Flight Lieutenant Troy Anforth, said the event was a great success.

“For many competitors, this level of rigorous exercise was a new experience and it was great to see them push themselves around the course in support of the Hunter Autistic School,” he said.
