THE ADF Warfare Centre has issued a new set of joint doctrine
publications about Defence logistics and evacuation operations.
The Commandant of the Centre, Air Commodore Dennis Green, said
a series of publications aimed to provide guidance to govern the
planning and execution of logistics support to ADF and coalition
operations and exercises.
The
publications are:
They
will also be valuable tools for operational and logistics joint
force commanders and staff, and all single-Service commanders
and staff in units involved in joint operations and exercises,
AIRCDRE Green said.
Non-combatant evacuation operations (NEO) are covered in a separate
publication.
NEO are operations in support of the Department of Foreign Affairs
and Trade in which non-combatants (Australian nationals and approved
foreign nationals) are evacuated from foreign countries where
their lives are endangered by war, civil unrest or natural disaster.
NEO has replaced the terms Services-protected evacuation
and Services-assisted evacuation.
AIRCDRE Green said ADDP 3.10-Evacuation Operations focused on
the way evacuation operations were planned and conducted by the
ADF and coordinated with other government departments.
Evacuation operations are most likely to be conducted with
little warning and in a confused and high-tension environment
requiring flexibility in procedures, he said.
ADF joint doctrine is available as hard copy publications, or
it can be accessed and downloaded from the ADF Warfare Centre
