THE Defence Logistics Support Agency - Air Force will soon release
the career progression models for the supplier and clerk supply
musterings.
The career progression models are a component of new occupational
specifications. The models provide a framework for the career
management function that will aid members and career managers
to plan a members professional development.
The models will be initially released in the Supply Trades Career
Handbook that will be launched this month.
The handbook was first released in draft form to the participants
of this years Airmen Seminar.
The clerk supply senior mustering adviser Warrant Officer Rick
Wilkens and the supplier senior mustering adviser Warrant Officer
Geoff Raymond presented the models to the seminar and discussed
areas for improvement.
WOFF Raymond said the feedback at the seminar was invaluable.
[We] now have models that can be used to clearly guide suppliers
and clerk suppliers in mapping out their future postings,
WOFF Raymond said.
WOFF Wilkens said the models ensured career development and progression
opportunities were better considered by the member and the career
manager.
The introduction of the career progression models into the career
management function will start in 2005. More details will be put
on the web site http://intranet.defence.gov.auRaafWeb/sites/DPLOGAF.
