THREE
members of the Roulette team returned to their old high schools
to showcase their aerobatic flying skills on a recent trip to
Brisbane.
Craigslea State High School, Marist College Ashgove and St Pauls’
School were treated to an aerobatic display and motivational talk
by the team.
Squadron Leader Mark Broadbridge returned to Craigslea High School
where he was the guest speaker at Craigslea’s Year 10 future focus
day. He was also persuaded to take a science class to discuss
the theory of flight.
“It was fantastic to return to the place that prepared me so well
for the Air Force,” SQNLDR Broadbridge said. “I’m sure today’s
talk and lesson with the students has motivated them to setting
some life and career goals for the future.”
The trip to Brisbane gave Flight Lieutenants Peter Geddes and
Mitch Roggenkamp the opportunity to meet with current students
and to catch up with their former teachers.
FLTLT Geddes’ school, St Paul’s, provided a thousand student assembly
for him to discuss his career since high school and the opportunities
the Air Force has provided.
“This is a great way to meet the public, not only to entertain
the children, but to also to show the students that any goal in
life is possible,” he said.
