DEFENCE
Materiel Organisation is investigating reports it has received
of defects in the stocks of the new style male and female blue/white
shirt (those with the Air Force badge attached).
The shirts were recently made available in clothing stores for
purchase and issue. Some of the defects include pockets out of
alignment and excess material that prevents the collar from being
neatly fastened.
DMO is investigating the extent of the problem, although it is
considered not to be widespread. As a precaution, clothing stores
have been instructed to inspect stocks of this garment and to
set aside any faulty items. Air Force personnel are advised to
try on the shirts and perform a thorough inspection to ensure
there are no defects.
Once DMO has resolved the warranty issues with the manufacturer,
details will be issued about replacing any defective shirts previously
received by personnel. Meanwhile, inquiries should be directed
to the SNCOIC Clothing Hotline, Sergeant Robyn Connell, on (03)
9282 7215.
