Centres
on trial
THIRTEEN
customer service centres (CSCs) will be set up on ADF sites –
including at RAAF Bases Darwin, Amberley, Edinburgh and Richmond
– from November 30.
Corporate Services and Infrastructure Group (CSIG) will trial
the centres to provide an improved level of customer service and
more timely access to the group’s products.
By June 2005, CSCs will be located on every major Australian Defence
site and base. They will replace existing shopfronts and existing
CSCs.
The centres will offer access to and information about the entire
range of CSIG’s products and services, rather than only some products
and services as happens now.
That range includes information about engineering, maintenance,
property, libraries, housing and relocations, personnel administration,
dispute resolution, computing, printing and publishing, procurement
and debt management, records, insurance, travel, Defence heritage
and environment and even airfield fire services.
CSIG expects ADF members will be provided with consistency wherever
they are posted.
On
November 30, CSIG will also open a phone help line – 1800 2744
– to replace the 73 different help numbers that currently exist.
As well, an online facility is being developed to replace the
present 15 national and regional web sites.
A common system for reporting and addressing complaints is intended
in the future, too. The overall aim is to reduce the number of
access points and to provide easy access to those points.
