Deadline nearing for PARs

THE first Performance Appraisal Reports (PARs) are due on September 1. Director Personnel (DP) acknowledges that there will be occasions when a full PAR cannot be raised, owing to operational commitments for example.

In such circumstances, members should ensure that they have Supplementary Reports raised on them, which provides a description of how members have performed in the roles/tasks they have been assigned. The narrative should address as many of the performance dimensions that are used in the PAR as possible.

Personnel raising Supplementary Reports can include a second page of text to provide a more complete picture of a member’s performance.

All members are reminded that it is in their best interests to ensure that their 2004 PAR or Supplementary Report is submitted on time, or to ensure that an extension has been sought and approved, as late reports will not be presented to the 2005 Promotion Boards.

Members who experience difficulties getting a report for 2004 raised should pursue the matter through their chain of command as the lack of a PAR/Supplementary Report for any year has the potential to adversely effect promotion chances.

Further information is available on the People Central web site on the RAAFWEB home page.

Keep up to date

EARLIER this year all personnel were given access to PMKeyS Self Service (PSS) and People Central. PSS shows you a great deal of information about yourself and gives you the chance to update some things.

For instance, you can change your contact details and dependant/beneficiary details. You can check to make sure that your leave details are correct.

If they are wrong, you need to contact your leave clerk to have the error fixed. You can also view your current EPAR and submit any changes that are necessary.

All of your readiness components are listed on PSS, along with your status of Ready or Not Ready and the date that your components expire.

People Central is a tool that allows us all to help plan our careers. When you open People Central, your personal details, including your posting preferences, are displayed.

If this information is not correct you need to submit a new EPAR. People Central also provides up-to-date job opportunities and allows you to put in applications online.

Increase in loan limits

FOR many years the RAAF Welfare Trust Fund (RWTF), through your local chaplains, has provided loans for various purposes to Air Force people. The Trustees of the RWTF have agreed to increase the limits of all loans by $100 as of September 1.

The new limits will be as follows:

Loan
Old
New
Home Improvement
$2600
$2700
Professional Development
$2600
$2700
Long Service
$2500
$2600
Group Life
$3100
$3200

Additionally, the death benefit for the RWTF Group Life Insurance has increased from $12,000 to $15,000. For those who are not members of the Group Life Insurance Scheme, for $1 a pay the scheme pays the benefit within 48 hours of the member’s death, where possible.

Membership of the Group Life Insurance Scheme also provides access to the Group Life Loan.

For details, including application forms and repayment schedules, visit the RWFT web site at
http://defweb.cbr.defence.gov.au/rwtf/ or contact your local chaplain.
