I
APPLIED for Anzac Exchange after seeing one of my colleagues go
and do it about two years ago. I was at No. 33 Squadron at the
time and we hosted a Kiwi who came to Australia. I have been very
fortunate to have spent nearly three months with No. 40 Squadron
and the Kiwi who came to Australia two years ago became my host
this time around!
The
Kiwis certainly do things a little differently but still the results
achieved are professional and timely.
I was able to open myself up to new ways of doing business and
was able to impart some of my knowledge and experience their way,
which made for good contacts and certainly will benefit both our
organisations.
I
have been able to see an amazing country that is right on our
doorstep and meet a wonderful, welcoming nation.
This
exchange has been a fantastic experience that I recommend to anyone
who has the drive and desire to represent the Air Force, Australia
and, more importantly, themselves. As the Kiwis would say, this
was “primo”, “choice” and “sweet as”.
